What better way to get your Thanksgiving Day started than with a great energy-raising run? Well, how about a Thanksgiving Day run that also supports local food pantries?

The Pfeathered Pfun Runs take place Thanksgiving Day. Choose to run either a 5K (~3 miles) or 10K (~6 miles), depending upon how hungry you want to be for dinner. For the younger runners, we also offer a Little Trotters Kids' K.

Each year since the inaugural event in 2014 (except for that year we all want to forget), this event has grown in popularity. We celebrate each finisher with medals, t-shirts and lots of pumped-up cheering! We are very excited to once again present this event again in 2024.

For those who would like to participate in the run but are not in town Thanksgiving morning, there is a virtual run option available. Same finisher medal, same t-shirt - you just do the race distance you choose on your schedule, wherever you may be.
***NOTE: Virtual runners are not eligible for awards.

All participants REGISTERING PRIOR TO OCTOBER 15th will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and finisher's medal, regardless of which run is completed. NOTE: Those registering for a virtual run, will receive their shirts and/or medals after the event.

When:

Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, 2024

Kids K (Youth thru age 10) Start: 8:00am
10K Start: 8:30am
5K Start: 8:35am

Where:

All of the runs take place at Lake Pflugerville. Start and finish will be at the North Beach Pavilion.

• The Little Trotters Kids' K run will go toward the dam and back.
• The 5K (~3 miles) run will be one lap clockwise around the lake on the gravel running trail.
• The 10K (~6 miles) run will be two clockwise laps around the lake.

We have the Kids' K running AND finishing prior to the start of the 5K and 10K, so you parents have time to cheer on your little runners before we get you "big kids" running.

Kids' K (both onsite and virtual runners):
    - $25 through September 30.
    - $30 October 1 thru October 31.
    - $40 thereafter (thru 8:00am race morning).

5K or 10K (Onsite runners):
    - $40 through September 30.
    - $45 October 1 thru October 31.
    - $55 November 1 thru November 22 at 5:00 pm.
    - $65 November 23 after 5:00 pm thru 8:00am race morning.

5K or 10K (Virtual runners ONLY):
    - $50.

Awards:
In addition to all finishers receiving a run medal, the awards will be as follows:
1st thru 3rd places, male runners, in the 5K
1st thru 3rd places, female runners, in the 5K
1st thru 3rd places, male runners, in the 10K
1st thru 3rd places, female runners, in the 10K
Overall Master's male (50 & over), 5K
Overall Master's male (50 & over), 10K
Overall Master's female (50 & over), 5K
Overall Master's female (50 & over), 10K
1st thru 3rd places overall in the Kids K

Online registration is open until 9:00 pm CST November 26, 2024.

There is NO paper-based registration. All registration will be completed online only.

This is a charitable event. A portion of the proceeds will be divided among the local food pantries involved.

Packet pickup will be race morning at the lake, starting at 6:30am.

Directions: From downtown Pflugerville, take Pecan Street (or from Highway 130, take Pflugerville Parkway) east to Weiss Lane. Turn left (north) and go just past the lake. The entrance to the parking will be on your left. (Note: Use 18216 Weiss Lane, Pflugerville, TX for your mapping on the Garmin, if needed).

Race morning, parking is available at the park. Please do NOT try to enter the cul de sac at Lake Pflugerville, as it will be closed. If the paved parking is full, please park on the south side of the lake. It is a short walk across the dam.

To truly be part of a community, we believe it is important for us to support the causes in need. With this thought in mind, proceeds of this event will support local food pantries.

To augment this opportunity to give back to the community, canned goods and non-perishables will be collected for the Pflugerville-area food pantries. Food donations will be happily accepted race morning. Donated food will be divided between the food pantries involved in this year's race. And THANKS!

If you prefer, you will also have the opportunity during your event registration (AND even race morning!) to donate cash to the effort.

All donations will be 100% forwarded to the food pantries.

We want to thank you all who have participated in previous Pfeathered Pfun Runs. It has been an awesome multi-year adventure, with thousands of dollars donated to various local food pantries over the years, and we are extremely happy to get back to celebrating Thanksgiving with you all for our 2024 event!

Sports 4 Us produces a variety of events in central Texas throughout the year: youth triathlon training camps, youth triathlon races, and various running and triathlon events for other organizations. We work with a couple of non-profits to send cyclists, runners and triathletes to various events, to fundraise and support sports without barriers.
